Service Description

The Subclass 143 Contributory Parent Visa is a permanent residency option for parents with children who are settled in Australia. Eligible sponsors for the Subclass 143 visa are the children of the parents or their spouses. Australian citizens, permanent residents, and eligible New Zealand citizens who have lived in Australia for at least two years can sponsor their parents. Meeting the balance of family test is a significant challenge faced by applicants for the contributory parent visa. In specific situations, the Government allows community organizations to act as sponsors for visa applicants. Sponsors must also meet other eligibility requirements, including character criteria. The Balance of Family Test: To meet the test, at least half of the applicant's children must be residing in Australia as citizens or permanent residents. Adopted and step-children are also considered, so if a parent migrates with a partner who isn't the biological parent of the sponsoring child, the partner's children from previous relationships are included in the assessment. A Registered Migration Agent can help determine if the test is met. Contributory Parent Visa Fee: The Subclass 143 visa requires a significant contribution of $43,600 as a visa fee. Some opt for the Subclass 173 contributory parent (temporary) visa first to spread the cost over several years, totalling $29,130 for the 173 visa and an additional $19,420 before the Subclass 143 is granted. Assurance of Support: An eligible person provides an assurance of support, guaranteeing financial assistance if needed for a certain period after visa grant. Often, the child or their spouse provides this assurance. Retiree Applicants: Retiree applicants with certain previous visas may be eligible for the 143 visa, with special provisions in place, exempting them from requiring a sponsor, assurance of support, or meeting the balance of family test. Working Rights for Contributory Parent Visa Holders: Yes, once the visa is approved, holders have the right to work and study in Australia. Australian Citizenship: Yes, the Subclass 143 is a permanent residency visa, allowing you to apply for Australian citizenship once you meet residency requirements. Access to Medicare: Yes, once approved, you can enrol in Australia's Medicare system. Onshore or Offshore Application: You can apply for the 143 visa either onshore or offshore. If lodged onshore, there is no bridging visa provided. Book your session with an EXPERT!
