The Subclass 143 Contributory Parent Visa is a permanent residency option for parents with children who are settled in Australia. Eligible sponsors for the Subclass 143 visa are the children of the parents or their spouses. Australian citizens, permanent residents, and eligible New Zealand citizens who have lived in Australia for at least two years can sponsor their parents. Meeting the balance of family test is a significant challenge faced by applicants for the contributory parent visa.
