AAT Visa Appeal

30 minStradbroke Avenue

Service Description

AAT Process: The Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT) is an independent merits review tribunal, separated from the Government, responsible for reviewing various visa-related decisions. The AAT was formed in 2015 following the merger of the Migration Review Tribunal (MRT) and Refugee Review Tribunal (RRT). You can apply to the AAT to review a decision made by the Case Officer if your visa is refused and you have review rights. The AAT member reviews the decision within the same legislative framework as the Case Officer. To appeal, don't delay. The letter from your Case Officer will indicate whether an appeal is possible and the deadline for lodging. Not all visa decisions can be reviewed by the AAT, but most can be. The AAT may decide based on paper submissions or require you to attend in person for individual cases. Upon lodging an appeal, the AAT will send you or your Registered Migration Agent a confirmation letter and notify the Department of Home Affairs of the appeal. The AAT member's review can result in four outcomes: uphold, remit, overturn, or determine no jurisdiction. To know about more, Book an appointment with our Migration Expert!
